Scratch Randy Gomez from coming. Something last minute. Not sure if this effects Matt Johnston from coming also.
I understand that he was giving Joe Acardi a ride, don't know if he would still like to go and s looking for a ride.
Just a reminder to all going, I'm leaving from the Ralphs parking lost at the corner of Colima and Whittier Blvd. at 5 am sharp! On the drive out all are welcome to come with my group, if we have more than 6 vehicles once we enter the preserve we'll need to divide into 2 groups.

I still plan to come with my son Luke and my friend Shane and his son Josh. We will head up Saturday morning and at Fred's advice we will plan to meet at the intersection of Mojave Road and Kelso Cima road. Coming in off the 40, we plan to be at that crossroads by about 10am.
Fernando I hear you will have a CB? I will have my CB radio on channel 20, and also be monitoring 147.555 on the handheld. We plan to time our arrival to be there when the group passes through, without the group waiting for us. We also hope we won't sit there too long waiting for the group. I'm told cell phones will likely work in that area, I have Fred's cell number, mine is 714 809-0933

I know the Mohave road is not that strenuous as far as far as capabilities are concerned.... But are you seriously going to allow a "limited 4x4" to go? I pray he has the Holy Spirit with him the whole way!!!!  Seems the only Land Rover member has fallen off the radar screen as far as off roading...............................what's happening in your life? Fred Explorer 1 oh not much going on here, just God. It's hard to describe how much goodness and blessings gave come my way since focussing on Him. Instead of squeaking trough Sunday mornings for two hours, I find myself eagerly going to service, then a two hour class, then Sunday evening (different) service, and Thursday night bible study. I am starting a bible study on Friday nights for my daughter (who is now the second in charge of the Christian club at LMHS). Then I will have time to come back on Thursdays with all of you. I really miss you guys! (Nope no tears) |

Everyone bringing some firewood for camp fire? With 4 campfires planned: Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday night and Sunday morning, I hope there will be several that bring a box or two. With the temps being lower we'll most likely start a fire each evening shortly after we arrive at camp. I's also bringing two boxes to leave at Caruthers as a thank you to the guy who owns the land we're camping on. Thanks for bringing this up, Fred |

By the way Matt Johnston contacted me and he is still coming, he hopes to meet us Saturday morning at the intersection of the Kelso-Cima road and the Mojave Road.

Could someone who has coordinates to caruthers canyon post the coordinates? It would make it easier for me to find it in the dark on Friday night.

By the way, Jim isn't coming, he got sick yesterday, possibly Kidney Stones.
Also, with so many changes in who is going, .......................

I regret it, but I'm bailing out on this trip. I'm kind of bummed because I've been looking forward to it and am all packed. My passengers bailed out last night, that made my son Luke not want to go. Going alone or forcing Luke to go didn't sound good and I've been fighting a cold for a few days, so we are going to skip this frigid adventure.

Got Fred back home about 2:45 PM. He's Getting the 4X4 van with tow bar and heading back to Ludlow to get his Jeep. Expects to be home around midnight if all goes well.
