I understand that in a more recent trip you did some "custom" body work to your truck, using some rocks.......got any pictures? Also, watch this Thread for updates on the Colorado trip, less than 30 days away. Thanks, Fred Explorer 1 Hahaha, as I was doing some technical maneuvers over watermelon/cantaloupe sized rocks and my truck lost its footing and kissed a tree. I dont have any pictures of the kiss on the trail but I do have an after pic. View AttachmentI also got stuck in some mud two weekends before this incident. All four wheels were at full droop as I was resting pleasantly on my belly. That was fun View AttachmentHere is a video from before the mud. It's amazing you could go that slow and get that much air!!! Ha Don't know about getting much "air" on this upcoming trip but we might have to do a little bit of this: See you guys on Sunday in Silverton. Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

We're (the group) is bringing 3, 2 burner stoves so I think we're ok on this but the additional lantern and a few small propane tanks might be useful. The easyups and tarps we're bringing are mostly in case we end up with rain in the evening meal time, so you can judge being closer what the weather will be like. If we don't have rain we most likely won't set them up. Our camps each evening will be simple as we like to get out the next day early hitting the trail. With that said, if there is something you want to bring.......go ahead and bring it......we may not need it but hey, it's your own vehicle and you should be able to bring whatever you want. Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

Thanks, Fred, for ordering two tires for me. Will put them on tomorrow, or on Thursday. Anyway, I will be okay with tires for now. Matt, you can disregard my previous note regarding the purchase of tires.
Thanks! Rudi

Doing some last bit touches on my 4 runner. P.S. It is a 2013. What is the latest on group items needed? If you are all meeting to talk about the trip, can we here in CO skype in for the chat?
Thanks,

Thanks, Jessica (pinkstarjess) The guys going are coming over on our Thursday night shop to pick up some of the group items. You're helping me by bringing my sweetheart with you from Boulder! As for group stuff, I think we're pretty much OK, we may ask you to carry some things like a couple of gas cans once we meet in Silverton. I think we'll drive almost all the way to Silverton on Saturday and be waiting for you there sometime Sunday. Most likely we'll have lunch in Silverton and afterward start on one of the trails.......or whenever you arrive. How about some pictures of your new cool tires? Thanks, Fred AKA Dad

Well we just lost one of our team members.
Thursday evening Rudi noticed that his left eye was clouded so he went to urgent care Friday and was then taken immediately over to an eye surgeon where they used a laser to correct a tear in his retina. They were able to "weld" it back right there but he's to have no strenuous activity for 7 days, not even taking the trash out. So sorry Rudi I know you were really looking forward to this trip. His friend that just flew out from Germany for the trip is still going, Carl is making room for him and between the rest of us we'll handle his equipment.
If you see Rudi, Tell him we're missing him and pray that all will heal well........I told him he has to make the Arizona Strip, North Rim of the Grand Canyon trip we're making the last week in March!
Thanks, Fred Explorer 1
