Could four rigs with large enough top racks carry an extra 5 gal for Jim thereby distributing the weight of the added container of gas over the group? Betterlookingtwin (aka May-Day Mike) I'm sure that if Jim could carry 10 gallons, we could distribute the rest among those coming. Hie might need to buy some gas at Bar 10 ranch when we pass it on the 2nd half of the trip, but that a usual. Did you read that Jim?......the guys want you to come...... Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

As a suggestion you might want to check with the Bar 10 Ranch which you pass by on the way to Whitmore Overlook. We were able to purchase gas from them when we were there several years ago. As part of our 10 day trip we stayed one night at the Bar 10 in their Covered wagons. Hot showers, ranch style dinner and breakfast. Nice way to breakup the trip. Here is link to their website. www.bar10.com

Unfortunately, with our travels this is difficult to do. I also don't like the added pressure of arriving someplace several days in at a specific time and place. Again thanks for the suggestion, it's always appreciated. Fred Explorer 1 Getting our headlights cleaned by a horse at the "full service" station (Bar 10)

The next few Thursday night shop nights will be primarily used for those going on the this trip, come and put you vehicle on the lift and do a inspection of the suspension. Service and repair any part of your vehicle needing attention, AAA does not make calls to much of the Arizona Strip. I have been told that towing companies are charging a minimum of $1000 to come and drag out a vehicle. See the "Thursday night shop night" thread in this Forum for details. We're also going to have several Saturday morning shop time. Don't let something like this spoil your trip and your wallet! Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

Does anyone have a boat style gas can they aren't using? I'm looking at the 12 gallon ones on line and I think they'd fit perfect on the rack I'm building.
Thanks, Jim

Jim, I think that I still have a 13 gallon boat tank in the back yard somewhere. I can take a photo of it and text it to you if you'll send me your phone number. If it will work for you, I'll be in Torrance Saturday and Sunday and could give it to you before the trip starts. Regards, Bruce 619 778 1857

Most likely, you'll meet up with Jim in Mesquite before we do as I think he plans on driving to Mesquite on Thursday. Let me know if it works out. Thanks, Fred

Fred,
I forgot he is coming from Colorado. I can carry it to Mesquite myself if he wants to use it, but I haven't been able to confirm that yet.
Would it be possible to get a list of everyone's phone number so I could text them while on the road?
Also, if any of our participants' family members want to reach them while on the trip, they can text my sat phone at +881623422198. The "+" is critical to use. They can also call it but some of my friends without an international calling plan get charged $15 per minute. Texting is at no charge to them ($.50 to me but not a big deal) and can be read at any time after the phone is turned on.
Regards, Bruce

We may be the first set of vehicles this season on some of the trails, with that in mind, I want to bring my large pry bar. If we need to move a large rock that is blocking our path it's a lot easier if we have the added leverage of a pry bar.
SO far no one has come forth saying they will carry it. It can fit inside most vehicles when the back seat is laying down.
We took one last trip and it was never used. But the time we don't take it will be the time we need it.
Who's going to carry it out to Mesquite? Once we make it to our first camp and we're all there we can re-assign some of the group equipment.
Let me know, Fred

The tank is about 1/2" too deep. I have about 16" of depth. Thanks for offering to help me out though! I really appreciate it. I'll figure something out.
