So here's the story, a couple weeks ago I made the decision to get my motorcycle license. I went down to the DMV passed a hilariously easy test and walked out with a permit to ride. The next step was a bike so I searched craigslist with the intention of getting a small 250cc dual sport with my budget being tight. After looking for weeks I found a bike within budget and It was a 400cc Suzuki DRZ400S (way faster than a 250cc) with a carb that was sticking. Other then than the bike was in good shape. At this point he was asking 3,000 But after some haggling over the phone got him down to 2200. When I got there and inspected the bike there were a couple other things he did not disclose, but overall the bike was ready. So I hagged a little more when I was in his presence (as you do). Let's just say I got an amazing deal and came home with a brand used 2002 Suzuki DRZ400S.
After arriving home I tore into the bike and realized there were a lot more mods than I expected. After a little research I made this mod sheet
Current Mods
Suspension visual and misc mods
Showa Front forks Full compression and damping adjustments ( recently rebuild by Racetech suspension)
Racetech rear shock has also been fully rebuilt
Exo cage rear
Slim rear fender
Flush mount rear turn lights
All new Acerbis plastics
Acerbis Bushwacker handguards
Clarke long range tank 3.9 Gallon
Rear travel rack
Cigarette lighter (phone charger)
Under armor by Baja designs
Seat cover
Handlebar Risers
Renthal handlebars
Engine Mods
Stage 2 Hot Cam Part # Intake 2003-1IN Exhaust cam # 2003-1E
CRC case guard
FMF header
FMF Powercore 2 Muffler
Edelbrock Qwiksilver 2 40mm carb Part number # 3118
Airbox mod (for more POWER)
UNI air filter
None of these mods were listed in the ad and it was a pleasant surprise to find all these goodies on the bike. I was also given a notebook with receipts for all these mods, the owners manual, and the service manual.
So I found a dream bike at a dream price, still got some customizing and repairs to do but I have a running bike!!!!
