This next task involved a small leak we detected on the driver's side rear axle seal. We went ahead and replaced both inner and outer seals on both sides and both axle bearings too. We discovered that this Dana 30 is a non "C" model so no clip to remove in the diff. Since the rear drums are new we went ahead and added high temp. primer and two coats of paint to add a little of rarely seen class to the rear brakes. The axle and diff. cover got a coat of paint and now both leaf packs are shinny black too. We all agree that this XJ while getting so additional trail mods still retains the XK classic look and is therefore "Look'n good! OH yes, one other item that all XJ's owner should consider, we removed the goofy plastic diff. breather and tapped the hole then screwed in a brass fitting with a nipple for the breather to attach, this really makes it water proof. Thanks, Fred Explorer 1
