Murrie and I made it to the top of the Grand Gulch Canyon in just under 2 hours from the base camp. Murrie did it all under his own power with very little spotting. Here I am at the top. More later, Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

Good job, well done! More pics coming? Danny Both Murrie and I had go Pro cameras on our windshield. But alias, it would appear that accidently Murrie may have erased both movies. He'll be here this Thursday and we'll verify that hey are gone. I have a few pictures we can use, we'll see. Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

On the way into "Base Camp" at the mouth of the Grand Gulch Canyon. Interesting pulling the XJ with the SMB off road. Did fine on the easy dirt road stuff, crossing some washes the standard trail hitch couldn't hold and was pulled off the ball. Here is some evidence that the water went through here. The trail is suppose to cross the wash behind Murrie' XJ. We had to find our own way into the wash and then across to the trail on the other side. A storm chases us into camp but we only received a few rain drops: Explorer 1 unleashed and ready to take on the canyon come morning: Murrie at the prior years "turn around point": The trail above our last years "turn around point" The upper canyon eases out a bit: This is a new sign up top, it wasn't there 3 years ago. Next.....landing my XJ on the Grand Gulch Mine airstrip. Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

Fred, thanks for the photos. I'm study each one of them. I will be exploring that area in nine days. I still haven't found anyone to go with me. Do you have to go through Grand Gultch Canyon in order to get to Kelly Point? Do you think anyone in your group might be interested in going?

I have a pretty full day tomorrow but I try and give you a call so we can talk about this. If not tomorrow (Monday) I'll call Tuesday for sure. Any time better than another? Thanks, Fred Explorer 1
