no overall lift shot? come on fred as for the shocks, i wouldnt be able to help until sunday I had just finished and didn't want to move it off the lift. Once the shocks are in, I'll post a picture and I'm planning on taking it to church Sunday and parking in on Granada Ave. Hopefully it will have enough miles to reset the computer and I can smog it. The upper shock grommet doesn't look like it will work on the upper shock mounts on the Grand, any ideas??? Fred Explorer 1

not sure, i'd have to see it to get ideas. is it just the opening of the shock bushing is too small for the bolt? if so, i used a large drill bit to open mine up when i put them on the XJ

Good Idea, I was going to push out the old shock bushing and use it but I like the drill idea better.
Thanks, Fred

Drilling a rubber bushing is an almost impossible task!.
But I got it done.
Took it for a drive without the front sway bar attached. Seemed fine to me but I've been driving with sway bars on my Cherokee for years.
Matt, what is the skinny on ZJ's with rear coils and removing the sway bar?
I think this Thursday we'll remove the front sway bar so I don't have to wire it up out of the way. We'll keep it in case the next owner wants it back on.
We still need to install the drivers side door handle, can we get that done this Thursday?
Thanks, Fred

i honestly dont know much about removing the sway bars on ZJs. i know the XJs are more stable because of the rear leafs though. we could always just run without them and see what happens.

got the spare tire mounted up: there was a decent crack in the rim, and i wasnt sure it was going to hold air. after mounting it i sprayed soapy water over the crack and saw no bubbles, so it seems to be holding air. should work fine as a spare. tomorrow i will pick up the ZJ after work and hopefully get it aligned on Tuesday at work after my shift has ended. the perks of working at a dealer i guess ;D

Thanks Matt,
It held air fine when I had the prior spare mounted.
Once you have it aligned, I need to back before Thursday so I can start thinking where I'm going to pack my stuff since I won't have a roof rack to load up.
Thanks, Fred
