Many of the trail on this trip were not for the average driver. All flexed out: Tight fit and drop at "Broken Mirror" falls: Balance act with tough sidewalls: Boulder crawling: More later along with some great movie, Fred Explorer 1

Some may ask........any damage? Fern added a few "Character marks" to his ZJ: Explorer 1 wasn't without "damage" There was this large "Sand Bowl" where loads of 4-wheelers of all kinds had gathered. It was kind of a "show off" area. There were all kinds of UTV's ATV's and motorcycles. Fern and I entered the bowl from the high side and came down a steep hill to the bottom. We stayed a while and I notice no one was attempting to make the climb up the hill where Fern and I entered. I decided to give it a try. I aired up my ARB pump and locked both axles, I chose the standard low 4WD setting without the Klune as I knew speed was the key to staying on top of the sand. Push the skinny peddle to the floor and ran it up to redline screaming up toward the hill. I made three tries and almost cresting the top but in each case I had to back down. On the final attempt, I hit a small hill just before the climb and did something I had never done before, I felt the suspension bottom out and then a sudden increase of the RPM's as I gained air on all 4 tires. Then as quickly as I was up the vehicle came down hard nd I heard and felt all four bump stops make loud contact. Next thing I heard was my ARB air pump continuously running which could only mean I either busted an "O" ring or had broken an air line. It wasn't until I got home that I could take a good look underneath and fond that the compression of the suspension had clipped the front airline. I also noticed that a couple of bolts from the front diff had hit the oil pan and the track bar had put a dent into the front diff. So much for learning to "fly" It's not the flying part that hurts but the landing! For a closer look and a preview of some of the pictures and movies, come this Thursday to shop night.
