On the way up we stopped at the Deli on the Tioga Pass road for lunch. Murrie had some work to do and Carl brought Michael up to speed on his love life. While Murrie finished up his work I took Carl and Mike for a swim in Rush Creek just before it emptied into Mono Lake. No Name lake, it was cold that evening with the wind and the 24 degrees air......it started to snow some. End of day 1 Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

On day 2 we had some great Fall colors on our way to the top of the Sweetwater Mountains: We visited the old ghost town of Belfort and did a camera pose of the vehicles at lunch: From the Sweetwater's we went the back way over to Bodie and stayed at an excellent campsite just north of Bodie: You can see Bodie in the foreground: The next day we traveled the old Bodie and Mono Mills railroad line finding some of the old ties north of Mono Lake: Due to the Owens Valley fire we had to take the long way around the Glass Mountains to our campsite near the hot springs but were still able to enjoy more fall colors: Someone had to have vehicle trouble so Carl volunteered, guess we know what he'll want to do next shop night: It was an easy quick trip with so few vehicle and only one breakdown and it was a lot cooler than anything the Los Angeles area was experiencing!
