Time for a challenging day trip.
We will take the more difficult Rowher Trail found in the Rowher Flat Off-Highway Vehicle area near Santa Clarita California.
The Rowher trail itself should only take about 3-4 hours to do then there are loads of other trails to explore for those so choosing.
Santa Clarita is near Magic Mountain so figure about an hour or so of pavement driving there and back.
We leave at 6 am from the Ralph's Parking lot at Colima and Whittier Blvd. Bring your own lunch as we will stop some where along the trail for lunch.
Since this is a day trip ladies may come along.
Let me know of your intent to come on this forum.
Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

Trip details!
We'll leave the Ralphs Market at the corner of Whittier Blvd and Colima at 6 am. We'll stop somewhere near where we leave the freeway for breakfast in route. Bring your own lunch and drinks. This SHOULD NOT be an all day trip, we should finish the trail sometime after lunch. Toward the end of the trail we'll be driving through the Rowher Flat off-Vehicle area which does have some restrooms available.
While the forecast has the high only 81 for the day, it can be hot in the hills the trail travels through with little shade.
I've driven the first part of the trail but never the last half. There are other trails in the park that can be driven if you wish.
Our route there will be Interstate 5 to Magic Mountain Parkway (east) to Soledad Canyon to Bouquet Canyon to the trailhead. We will finish and return to the freeway via Sierra Highway.
If you are coming please confirm so I can look for you Saturday.
Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

ADDITIONAL TRIP DETAILS!!! Please note the change.
I decided to add the "easy" Sierra Pelona Road trail to our day trip this Saturday. Since we're traveling around the Rowher OHV park there are loads of trails around and I didn't want anyone scared away with us taking the difficult Rowher trail only. We're still leaving the same time from Ralphs but will take the Sierra Pelone trail first which ends near the beginning of the Rowher Trail.
Let me know if your coming.
Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

Joe showed me a movie of myself making my mark on the difficult climb toward the end of the day. I need to get a copy of it to post here. Here is my mark on the rear axle of my JK after the climb: Here is the end of the axle shaft after I pulled it out......aren't these splines supposed to be straight? Here is what I pick up Tuesday morning from 4WD parts to remedy the situation. ( anybody need me to pick up something for them?) Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

We had such a blast that weekend. I scared the crap out of my wife a few times, but she now realizes what these trucks can really do. The dodge was a beast that day besides getting stuck at the beginning, but it was a fun experience. I'm sure it wont be the last time I get it stuck lol.
