Hey Fred and everyone else, It has been too long. Two kids is 10x as hard as one! I was wondering how you mounted your gps stand into your dash. I just got a ram mount base and I know you used really long screws. Is there any danger of puncturing anything? I want to place it directly behind the engine lights (left of the stereo). It's a '96 so it's like your dash, fred. Thanks!

I used a small piece of Delrin (hard plastic) mounted to the top of the dash with long wood screws. The top of the dash is only thin vinyl and form. To the Delrin I tapped in threads so I could use a screw to hold the Ram holder to it.
That was then, now with a roll cage I either clamp unto the cage or use a suction cup to the windshield.
Hope this helps, Fred Explorer 1

Jason, I made my own mount out of sheet metal and used double sided foam tape to attach it to the dash. It's been there for four or five years without any problems. The good thing is, if I should need to remove it for some reason it will come off clean without any damage to the dash. Just a thought. Good luck!
Regards, Neil

Thanks... I ended up putting it straight into the dash to see if I liked the spot and it is holding up really well actually..
