Hi, I did a compression check recently on my 4.0 and it seems to need a valve job. Is this something that we mere mortals could do in a well-stocked garage at home? Or should I seek out a pro shop to do the job?
The cause and symptoms:
The check-engine light code indicates malfunctioning fuel injectors. Plugs on 1-5 are carbon-fouled. Only plug 6 is clean. This matches the compression results: Cylinders 1-5 are ~ 125-130 psi and cylinder 6 holds 145 psi.

I'm not able to do a complete rebuild and the machining that the rebuild of a head would require. You either need to remove it and take it to a shop that can or you an buy an already new/rebuilt head that you would just bolt on.
