Dates will be Friday, Jan 26 - Sunday Jan 28th. On this trip we stay at the same place both nights so those who can't leave early Friday can join us Friday night or any time Saturday. Let me know if your going and what vehicle you will be driving. Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

I will plan on leaving from the Ralphs parking lot at corner of Whittier Blvd and Colima at 5 am sharp Friday morning.
We will stop along the way in Indio for breakfast at a Dennys.
As in past years we will camp in Blair Valley. I may choose a different campsite from past years and get more sunshine in the morning, so if your coming in to meet us instead of driving you may need to drive the entire loop to locate where we are camping.
Friday Morning before we get to Blair Valley we will do the Calcite Mine trail and the Lower Coyote Canyon trail. Then we will drive through Borrego Springs and top off our tanks before we head over to Blair Valley sometime after lunch Friday.
Saturday we will start with the Pinion Valley trail ( Squeeze, Heart attack hill) and then into Fish Canyon and a trip up Sandstone Canyon. Then up Diablo Drop off and the one of the mud/sandstone canyons out and back to Blair Valley.
Sunday we will visit Rodriguez Canyon before we pack up and head home.
There are no open fire allowed in the State Park, so we need to bring my wash tub and a few cement blocks as a stand. My smaller grill will fit however, depending on how may come, we may need to grill our meat in shifts.
We'll have fires each evening and morning so each vehicle needs to bring a box of nail free wood. If you can't buy or firewood come by with your box and I should be able to provide some.
Lots of variety of trails. This is second only to the Mojave Road in its popularity.
Let me know your questions,
Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

Fred,
I will be San Marcos Thursday morning and plan on going to the camp site Thursday afternoon. Since you may change the camp site I will not pitch my tent but sleep in the car Thursday evening. I will not have Rusty but driving the Pilot so I will need to be invited to ride the "4 wheeling action packed thrill rides" with someone who has a spare seat. I will bring my impacts and two milk grates of wood. Any thing else? Murrie

If each vehicle brings just one box of clean firewood, we should be ok for the Friday evening, Saturday morning, Saturday night, Sunday morning campfires.
Thanks, Fred

Fred,
It looks like I will be by myself Thursday evening. I will meet you at the Calcite Mine road microwave tower and jump into Fernando's car.
