Many of you know I'm planning a very epic trip this September traveling from Canada to Mexico, mostly following the Great Western Trail.
Some have committed to going most or part of the trip.
I'll be traveling north to south.
I have the route mapped out for Arizona and have chosen most the trails through Utah. Next would be Wyoming, Montana and Idaho.
If you interested in doin all or part of the tail let me know.
Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

With this trip less than 1 1/2 months away I've been doing some serious mapping in preparation. I'll be using my Lowrance to pre-program the route I will be taking the same way I did for the early Arizona Strip trips. This way there is no guessing when e come to one of the hundreds of unmarked and unnamed intersection along our journey. While using Google Earth to draw out the route I get the added benefit that I can see all the elevation changes and the total mileage of each section. I've mapped out from US Highway 6 just southeast of Salt Lake City Utah, to the Mexico border. Maybe your interested, maybe your not. But there is room on this trip for joining me on any part for as many days as you wish. At this point I can't tell you exactly where I will be on any one day. All I do know is that I will leaving September 1st heading north for the Canada border somewhere most likely in Montana. I will have some cell service, and I have my SPOT tracker on, so progress will be available. If I know what dates you have available I can keep you posted along the way with my best estimate on when and where I can meet up with you. Here is are pictures of the route so far starting with US Highway 6, southeast of Salt lake city. Each map below is the next one in order all the way to the Mexico border.

On the bottom of the elevation chart you can see the distance this section is, on the last one above its covers 104 miles.
Any questions?
I'll be adding additional maps as I trace the route we're taking.
