I'm planning a "training day" for January 7th. I know it's a little last minute, but bet some of you would enjoy some time to test out any recent modifications to your vehicles, or for the new guys, get a chance to test your skills in a controlled environment. I haven't posted in on the forum.
Meeting location: Ralph’s Supermarket on Whittier and Colima. Meeting time: 5am Training Location: Gorman/Hungry Valley Lunch: I can cook and collect money from everyone. Training: Basics for "beginners" Tearing mods: On your own.
Hungry Valley has a 4WD training area next to a picnic area and restrooms. In the past after the training time we have taken the learners on the pronghorn loop trail as a way of applying some of what was learned. Depending on who comes and the skill/comfort level we can also opt to do the Lockwood/Millers Jeep trail if it's open. This is a more difficult trail that's a lot of fun. We did it years ago, some of you may have come on it. We don't use the main entrance we take the smaller one south of there at the smoky bear exit.
Since everyone is familiar with the typical meeting location, the Ralph’s Supermarket on Colima and Whittier Blvd, let’s meet there. For those who miss us there or would meet closer to Hungry Valley, we can meet at Denny’s in Castaic. 31724 CASTAIC RD

Fern has an Illness in the extended family and has had to cancel this training day, perhaps when things settle down he can re-schedule.
Thanks, Fred Explorer 1
