Fred,
I will be coming, maybe even leaving Thursday afternoon to get an extra night. I invited Chum's son Michael but he can come so I think I am solo. I will be driving the Baboon.

So far it looks like just Murrie and me.
If it's lost it pull for many of you, I'll start deleting it form future trips.
Anza Borrego has been 2nd most popular trip to only the Mojave Road.
I'm taking the XJ out for some extended "field testing" . It should be fun!
Let me know if your coming.
Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

Think I'll leave Thursday morning, enjoying the drive in the Tundra pulling the XJ. I'll get to Blair Valley early in the day and enjoy the peace and quiet, maybe take a day hike. Since we'll be staying all nights in the same campsite, non off road participants are also welcome to come and camp with us. If you are one of those let me know so I can be sure you know where we'll be camping and how to get there. That also applies to anyone coming up later. Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

Just a reminder,
1. Depending on which route you take to get to our campsite, Be sure an fill up your tank at the last available gas station before arriving at the campsite.
2. We will have campfires in my washing tub I'm bringing, I will also bring my grill so we can cook over a fire. Bring a box or two of fire wood.
3. You can bring some items that will make you camping experience more pleasurable since we'll be staying all nights at the same camp spot.
4. There are no facilities at our campsite but at the place we leave pavement to drive to our camp spot there is a pit toilet. (about a quarter of a mile away)
PLEASE let me and others know if your coming on this thread. Let us know when you plan on arriving, and if you need directions.
I will be leaving around 7:30 am from my house Thursday morning. I will be taking the desert route out I-10 to the Salton Sea area where I will then turn west to Borrego Spring and then to our camp spot.
Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

Still not sure who is coming, and when they are coming......
but here are a few details;
1. I'm leaving my home at 8 am sharp. I'll be driving the Tundra, pulling the XJ behind.
2. I will be taking the inland route, I-10 to 86 south to the junction with Route S22.
3. I'll fill both the Tundra and the XJ's gas tanks at this junction. I believe there is a Mohawk gas station there.
4. Then continue south on 86 to hwy 78 turning west (right) toward Ocotillo Wells.
5. Take 78 west to S2 south at the scissors junction.
6. South on S2 just over the pass (Foot and Walker pass) where the road start to go down will be the turn out on the left for the Blair Valley privative camping area (loop). There is a pit toilet in the parking area and there should be other campers with RV's and trailers near this exit.
7. About a mile in on the loop on the left is the camping area we have used in the past. I'll try and "save" a few sites but not knowing who all is coming and when they expect to be there I won't know how many or for how long.
8. Other than some hiking around our campsite I should be there all day. On Friday morning I will wait until 8:30 am before I go out to leave and start exploring. If you arrive after this, I'll see you in camp when I return later.
9. I will brings some firewood and my wash tub to be used for our campfire. We'll need enough firewood for 6 campfires so bring what you can, a box our two should suffice.
10. Should be rain free weather with pleasant temps. Days in the low 70's nights in the low 40's.
11.. Sunday will be our Big Breakfast, assume all lunches will be "one the trail".
Thanks and see you then,
Fred Explorer 1
