/?d=n Here is the link to the 4 Wheel Friends FB account. Feel free to go there, comment and post. So, It was supposed to be a quick trip to up the snow and home by sundown. Well, we got part of that correct. Matt, or Cody will have to clean up some of my story because I’m not that familiar with trails and locations. The first part of this trip went well. We had a leisurely start. Stopped off for some great breakfast burritos, which we ate in the parking lot. We got to the snow and had a great time going through trials that had already been driven through. The snow was already compacted, which made it easier for us. Then, we came to a crossroads. Both figuratively and literally. We opted to head onto 3N-16. The fresh powder was very enticing. We had a nice run until we let a small group get ahead of us near Holcomb Creek. Matt politely asked them if we could get ahead of them. They obliged. All was going well until Vehicles started get stuck in the snow. At one point, Matt’s MJ went sideways going off the trail. We were able to place him back in and he went on. At that same spot, Cody got stuck for what seemed to be 45 minutes. He uprooted a small tree with his winch. We then had to climb up through 2 feet of snow to get to an actual full grown tree. He winched himself free. We spent so much time trying to free him up, Matt actually drove the trail in reverse for a mile to get back to us due to lack of communication. We were back in our way. The rest is a little bit of a blur. We all got stuck constantly. Matt broke both front axle shafts. We turned around and found that small group we passed up had only moved about 100 yards or so. Ultimately, we decided to spend the night at Carl’s Cabin and figure things out in the morning. Cody and I grabbed pizza and by the time we returned, Matt had already done enough work on the MJ so that it was drivable. The next morning, we had breakfast indoors and were very grateful we were all safe and had some awesome stories to share.

Fun with a capital "F".
And I didn't mean it the way you might think.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch (Oaks), I was breaking trail for some other off roaders that may pass by later.
Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

I drove 3N16 last week (Feb 16th) while staying in Big Bear with the family. Still snow in parts, a lot of melt causing puddles up to 20 inches deep.
