Names like the "Squeeze", "Heart Attack Hill", "Diablo Dropoff" come to mind when we think of past Anza trips. Ask anyone who has gone before and you'll get a good report. This location is 2nd in popularity only to the Annual Mojave Road trip. We usually camp in one location, Blair Valley and then go out for day trips. Let me know if you coming. I may go out Thursday late afternoon (13th) and secure our camp spot for those coming later. Thanks, Fred Explorer 1

Can’t make this one. Valentine’s Day is that weekend. Since I’m planning on doing the Strip Trip, I’ll have to pass on this one.

Any other ladies coming that you know of? Jennelle doesn't want to be the token estrogen presence.

I'll be bringing up another family from our church Friday early afternoon plus our bringing our trailer, which might require me pitching camp close by to where you and others locate. Any off-roading will happen for me and Joe on Saturday. He's not very experienced but drives a stock 4Runner with BFG All terrains. Do you have the off-road itinerary decided yet in case we need to meet the group somewhere?

Anza Borrego trip details: 1. For those going with me we'll leave Ralph's Market (Corner Whittier Blvd & Colima) at 5 am Friday morning. We'll be taking the inland route, out the 10 to Hwy 86 in Indio south to S22. We may stop for breakfast somewhere along the way. 2. After topping off our tanks in Borrego Springs we'll head over to the Blair Valley loop and look for a camping spot. Hopefully, our usual spot will be open, but if not there are plenty of other spots on the loop so if you come later and don't find us in the usual spot drive the loop around looking for us, I'll be in my tan JK. We may take a trail in route so it will be difficult for me to give you an exact time that we will arrive in Blair Valley. If you get there and the spot we've used in the past is open, take it and will be along eventually. I will be monitoring 147.555 on the 2 meter and my cell is 562-547-5577. Best to text me while driving as I can't always here my phone ringing while driving. 3. While not required, I would recommend that you be sure and arrive in Blair Valley with as full a tank of gas a possible, there are no gas station anywhere near Blair Valley. You might want to bring an extra 5 gallons of fuel, which you could leave in the camp site until Saturday or Sunday when you could then transfer to your tank. 4. Each vehicle should being at least one box of wood. The weather looks idea and with the sun going down early this time of the year, we may spend some hours up enjoying the evening. Anza Borrego State Park does not allow ground fires so we will need to bring my was tub and a few bricks to keep the tub above ground. I will need someone to come by and pick up the tub and the bricks. Let me know if you can do this ASAP. I will bring my grill that fits over the tub for those who want to can cook over the fire. If you need firewood, let me know and come over to my house to pick up some. Bring your own container to carry the wood. 5. Plan meals from Friday lunch through Monday breakfast. (Monday is a legal holiday in case you didn't know) We will have our "Big breakfast" Monday morning. 6. Which trails we will take has yet to be decided, possibly I will do some new exploring in area's I have not been before. If you plan on coming with me let me know, so I know to look for you at Ralph's. Starbucks across the street opens at 4:30 am. Any questions, Thanks. Fred Explorer 1
