OK here is your chance to see my beloved property we call "The Oaks" and enjoy a night out under the stars next to beautiful swift flowing river, a BBQ dinner and fun around a campfire, all the while helping me with some projects. We'll leave early Saturday June 8th arriving in less than two hours at The Oaks. See the property and help me move rocks and sand with my tractor all deposited in the Feb 14 flash flood, see link below: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Njkq8M6dtWILunch and dinner will be provided, We'll then spend the evening around our campfire right next to the river. Sunday morning we can then take the Clark Grade trail up over to the top of the mountain over looking Big Bear lake ( this is the old route taken to Big Bear before the highway was establish.) Its a loop that brings us back down near our property. Then you can head home arriving back in about an 1 1/2 hours later. Let me know if your coming, even if it's just for Saturday day. I'll need to buy the steaks and fix'ns for lunch. Clark trail is considered an easy to moderate trail. Thanks, Fred Explorer 1 |

What I need is help on is putting this big plastic water tank in place.  It's not that heavy, but difficult to handle by myself. One we get it up right I can use the tractor forklift attachments plus a few extra hands to place it on it platform. This is part of my fixing the damage done by the Feb flash flood. I'm in kind of a race to get it together and repaired before the hot weather.  If you can just come to help me with this it would be appreciated. All welcome for just the day or for a campfire and dinner then a trip up the Clark Ridge trail to Big Gear on Sunday morning. It should be warm enough to play in the river if you like, so bring your swim suit and some water shoes if you have them. Also, while we were there today (Tuesday) the Lady Bug population has come out explosively with million of them. This happens each year for a few days, there more of a nuisance than any thing else, also mosquitoes are out near sunset until it get cooler in the evening so some kind of bug repellent would be advisable. Driving time between Whittier and our place is about 1 hour 45 minutes. Thanks, Fred Since we're buying the steaks on the way up Saturday morning, we need to know how much to buy. So let me know if you're staying for dinner. We're leaving Ralph's at 5 am Saturday morning. If you're coming up later let me know so I can e-mail you directions. |

I have confirmation that Bodie is coming, He will the come home either Saturday or Sunday with whom ever he can get a ride.
He can give lessons on using the 37 ton splinter for those wanting to split some fire wood.
