on the grand cherokee? the MJ is from washington. according to the owner its rust free. the ZJ plates look just like the Pennsylvania plates that came on my truck. in that case we should stay far away from it.

i just got a crazy idea. why not put the ZJ drivetrain in the MJ? i know thats a much more involved project than the Grand was, but it will definitely keep us busy

Matt, With my XJ coming home soon and construction starting next week, I won't be looking for any new projects cars to be here until the shop is finished. Of course we can still buy one if someone is swilling to store it at their house until we have space here.
Thanks, Fred Explporer 1

Thanks, Fred Explporer 1 oh yeah, im aware of that. i was kind of half serious about that idea, thats a ton of work and space that are needed. I am seriously looking into buying the MJ for myself though. I would store and work on it at my work and could store any project we buy at my work as well

I'd be down for a 5.2 swap. I've always wanted to do something like that.

WOW, that would be a major project! Especially with all the required smog in California. Thanks, Fred

WOW, that would be a major project! Especially with all the required smog in California. Thanks, Fred the car would have to be brought up to the technology of whatever year the engine came out of. an OBDI system would be a simpler system then OBDII, so a 5.2 ZJ between the years of 93-95 would be ideal. this also means for smog it would have to go to a referee and all the updating approved. which means adding things like a check engine light to update it
