There is still time for any qualified driver to join us on the Koko 3 trip. This year it's 1/2 of the 400 mile Hayduke trail in Utah. We will start near Moab Utah and travel southwest crossing the Colorado river at Hite and then finishing this leg about 25 miles south of Hankville Utah. For those who don't know we act as support for a mountain bike group on the Koko trips. The dates are Oct 11-20th. I know most of you are still working abd contributing to my monthly Social Security check, which I thank you for, and cannot take this much time away from work. But just in case your interested, we will be having a joint meeting with the bikers either Sept 30th or Oct 7th. Let me know if your interested or have questions about this trip. Early on I had indicated pretty strong interest in this trip. At this point it doesn't look realistic for me to be away from home for that long without my wife. I'm going to have to pass this one up. Looking forward to getting back to shop night though now that I read its back on.

It would be a good one, even without the relaxed schedule and bikers to fellowship with.
By the way, this isn't a guy only trip, Mina is coming.

I remember you telling me you may be heading out a couple of days early so you can stay in Moab a while. Is that still happening?

As it looks today, we'll be leaving early Thursday morning the 11th, making our way to Green River Utah for a night of camping at Green River State park, then Friday we'll travel to Moab, shop for all our meals, fill our water containers, and fuel tank and cans before we set out for a (hopefully) early campsite along the Colorado river just outside of town near the Kane Creek trail. We only have 3 bikers and 4 vehicles going at this point. Mina is coming along in my vehicle. Since once we hit the trail it's 200+ miles before we come to civilization and gas we're going to be pretty heavily loaded. It doesn't look look we'll be playing around Moab. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll be easy for me to leave that long. I was hoping to maybe meet you in Moab for a couple of days, but I understand that's not in the itinerary. I've been looking for a reason to do Rimrocker Trail and I was hoping this would provide the excuse. Its not looking good, but I'll see if I can fly someone in to watch the kids. My mom's always looking for reasons to come visit. I'll let you know soon.

I just got off the phone with her. She has some friends flying into town during that time. I'm not going to be able to go unfortunately. I'm looking forwards to seeing the pics and hearing the stories though!
