So Saturday I ended up heading up to the mountains and did 2N17X and the east half of pilot rock trail then on out to Rock Camp. 2N17X is tough in spots, I'm not sure if my YJ could have made a couple of the climbs, but the JK did it easily.

Oh man, i so bad want to do a CH trip. only time i've been was in a stock XJ and had to bypass all the fun, and every time after something has gotten in the way of me going. Anyone up for a speed CH trip staring early and powering though everything and coming home late?

Oh man, i so bad want to do a CH trip. only time i've been was in a stock XJ and had to bypass all the fun, and every time after something has gotten in the way of me going. Anyone up for a speed CH trip staring early and powering though everything and coming home late? You talk'n doing the whole thing in one day!!!  ? I don't think it could be done......well maybe if one starts in the dark an ends in the dark driving like the wind! I would think doing the first part including Dishpan and Holcum Creek at the end would be a good full day. I'm up for it especially if it's mid week so we don't have anyone holding us up on the trail. Fred |

I also don't think Matt Johnston would be willing or able to take his brand new shinny JK on this trip!

Yep, the whole thing or at least most of it. Mid week would be difficult for me but maybe next time I get a random monday or Friday off. Still a few things I would need to get done to the jeep. My power steering pump is finally on its last leg and whines all the time now lol

Yep, the whole thing or at least most of it. Mid week would be difficult for me but maybe next time I get a random monday or Friday off. Still a few things I would need to get done to the jeep. My power steering pump is finally on its last leg and whines all the time now lol I have short Fridays all Summer, off as early as 9:am |

Matt, Did you take the middle option when you came to this hill? Thanks, Fred Explorer 1 I took the one on the right marked designated route ........I was by myself. Well I had passengers but no other vehicles with me. The two groups of other jeeps that were airing down when I did both took the regular Pilot Rock Trail. The hill very near the end was the hardest, but still had only a tiny bit of wheel slip. |

I also don't think Matt Johnston would be willing or able to take his brand new shinny JK on this trip! Fred I got my first Arizona pin stripes on the top. Also scraped one of my wheels a bit. Not sure I want to play in big rocks just yet. |
